Your Guide to Buying Grass Fed Beef in Bulk

When you fill your freezer with grass fed and finished beef from Twin Pines Ranch, you’re doing more than stocking up — you’re investing in health, sustainability, and a ranching tradition rooted in the mountains of Colorado.

Buying in bulk gives families a way to enjoy premium beef year-round at a lower cost per pound, with the confidence of knowing exactly where it came from and how it was raised. Our cattle graze freely in open mountain pastures, nourished by clean water and native grasses — no antibiotics, no hormones, just pure Colorado beef raised the way nature intended.

🥩 Why Buy Beef in Bulk?

Purchasing a quarter, half, or whole cow offers unbeatable value and convenience. You’ll receive a wide variety of cuts — from tender steaks and roasts to ground beef and stew meat — all custom-cut, and ready for your freezer.

Here’s what makes bulk buying so popular:

  • Cost Savings: Buying in bulk reduces your price per pound compared to retail cuts.

  • Variety: You’ll enjoy every cut from the animal, not just the steaks.

  • Convenience: Your freezer becomes your own mini butcher shop.

  • Sustainability: Fewer deliveries, less packaging, and a smaller environmental footprint.

  • Connection: You’ll know exactly where your beef comes from — right from our family's ranch

🔥 How the Bulk Buying Process Works

We make buying beef in bulk simple and transparent, from pasture to plate.

1. Choose Your Share Size

You can reserve a quarter, half, or whole beef share:

  • Quarter Beef: Great for small families — typically 75–110 lbs of packaged beef.

  • Half Beef: Ideal for families or shared freezers — around 150–220 lbs.

  • Whole Beef: The most cost-effective option — roughly 300–400 lbs of packaged meat.

(Exact weights vary depending on the animal and how you choose your cuts.)

2. Reserve Your Share

Once you place your deposit, your beef is reserved from our next processing date. We’ll walk you through the cut sheet options, allowing you to customize your order — whether you prefer thick ribeyes, small roasts, or extra ground beef.

3. Processing and Packaging

Your beef is aged for 14–21 days for flavor and tenderness, then professionally cut, paper-wrapped or vacuum-sealed, and labeled. Everything is frozen for freshness and ready for long-term storage.

4. Pickup or Delivery

  • Local Pickup: Available in Montrose, Colorado.

  • Shipping: For select boxes and cuts nationwide. (Bulk shares are typically pickup only due to size.)

5. Storing Your Beef

You’ll need:

  • Quarter beef: ~4 cubic feet freezer space.

  • Half beef: ~8 cubic feet.

  • Whole beef: ~16 cubic feet.

Your beef will stay fresh for 12–18 months when properly stored frozen.

🍽️ What’s Included in a Bulk Order

Each share includes a balanced mix of premium steaks, roasts, and everyday staples some examples include:

  • Ribeye, New York Strip, Sirloin, Filet Mignon

  • Chuck, Brisket, and Sirloin Tip Roasts

  • Stew Meat and Short Ribs

  • Ground Beef (usually 40–50% of the total)

You can also request specialty cuts like soup bones, oxtail, tongue, or liver — perfect for nose-to-tail cooking.

🌱 Regenerative Ranching in the Mountains

At Twin Pines Ranch, our bulk beef program goes hand in hand with our regenerative agriculture philosophy. We raise cattle in a way that restores the land — not depletes it.

By rotating our herds through Colorado’s mountain pastures, we allow grasses to regrow naturally, improve soil structure, and increase carbon storage. The result? Healthier ecosystems, cleaner water, and more nutrient-dense beef.

When you buy in bulk, you’re directly supporting this regenerative cycle — ensuring that your food dollars make a lasting difference for both your family and the land that sustains us.

🧡 From Our Mountains to Your Freezer

Filling your freezer with Twin Pines Ranch beef is an act of trust, sustainability, and good sense. It means fewer grocery trips, better quality meals, and confidence in where your food comes from.

Whether you’re new to buying in bulk or restocking your family supply, our team will guide you every step of the way — from your first deposit to your first bite.
