"Our dream is to restore the land, restore hearts, and restore connection. Not only human to human connection, but connection between humans and all other living things, from the tiniest microbe to the largest steed. Most importantly, to restore connection with our Maker."

We have so many dreams for Twin Pines Ranch. Most of these dreams encompass a few foundational ideas.

We want Twin Pines Ranch
to be...

1.png

A place others
can call home.

Our hope is for the ranch not just to be for our family’s personal use, but a place where many others will feel welcome and can call home.

2.png

A place to learn.

We want to create a space for people to realize their potential at small and large things. We plan for this ranch to offer a myriad of farm experiences and workshops.

3.png

We want our ranch to be a place to learn, grow, laugh and build (literally and figuratively)! We dream of hosting events here, too, where groups can get together and reconnect.

A place to
fully live.

4.png

A place for restoration and connection.

Our dream is to restore the land, restore hearts, and restore connection. Not only human to human connection but connection between humans and all other living things, from the tiniest microbe to the largest steed. And most importantly, cultivating connection with our Maker.

Meet the Tates

At the heart of Twin Pines Ranch is the Tate family. They deeply desire to be good stewards of their farm and family.

Evan and Madison have worked together their entire married life, and they love to put their dreams into action and lead alongside one another. Ranching is a family affair with their three kids Tatum, Easton and Wilder taking part the all the action.

"Harmony: Unique and diverse things working together, doing their Individual, yet Integral functions that they were designed to do In order to create something beautiful." - G. Tate

Evan

Evan Tate hails from ranching stock. He has a long history of ranching going back to the first ranchers in the state of Colorado. Evan traveled as a child with his family teaching sustainable agriculture around the world.

Evan is a tradesman with a successful construction company, alongside ranching, where he specializes in timber framing.

Madison

I’m an RN and help Evan with design within the construction business.

My love for agriculture has stemmed from my heart for holistic health. From starting our CBD venture (Twin Pines Hemp Co.) and learning about the myriad of benefits of the hemp plant to diving into the world of eating sustainably for one's health, my nurse side is right at home in agriculture. And in case you were wondering, no, I don’t miss the hospital!

As far as our kids go, the eldest is Tatum who keeps everyone organized and in line, Easton is the chicken whisperer, and Wilder, our youngest, keeps

everyone on their toes.

Our Roots

Backstory

Meeting as missionary kids, our relationship grew out of an unlikely friendship: I (Madison), who had never been around livestock, thought Evan, the cowboy, was not my type. Now I am learning to be a cowgirl myself.

We’ve worked together our entire married life, and we love to put our dreams into action while leading alongside one another. No doubt, ranching is a family affair: our three kids take part in all the action.

Farming Practices

How do we raise our beef?

Our cattle are 100% grass fed.  They eat only grass, winter pasture, and forage supplements. Grain is not a part of their diets at any point.

In the Western Slope of Colorado (where our ranch is located), we winter our cows where there is less snow, then we move them up to higher mountain ground in the summer months to graze. The grass’s nutritional level in this region is high, resulting in fewer months of hay supplementation in the winter. Our practice of rotational grazing makes it sustainable for the land as well as the animals. We are learning alongside one another to manage the land well.

Our cattle are gentle. We readily admit that we ‘baby’ our animals.  Many of them are named and quite tame. Our animals are trained to come when we call and easily loaded into trailers knowing we are taking them to greener pastures.

Pepper is the greatest example of a family cow, Evan raised her from a bottle as a young child and she lived 25+ years. Our kids often sat on her and brushed her. Evan would get shelter from the rain under her wide belly as a kid. It was a very sad day in the Tate house when Pepper went to Cow Heaven.

Our Goal:

Provide a high quality, nutritious product to our customers that is raised in a way that values people, the land and the animal.
